Leadership, Experience, And Strategic Advisory In Costa Rica
Grupo GAP is built around practical financing experience, Costa Rica execution, and senior advisory support for borrowers, private lenders, project sponsors, and capital groups.
Grupo GAP combines hands-on leadership with senior project and capital advisory experience.
Grupo GAP works across property-backed financing, private lending, institutional capital, project financing, real estate opportunities, and strategic Costa Rica business relationships. The team structure reflects that reality.
The leadership team guides the day-to-day direction and execution of the GAP ecosystem, while senior advisors and associates support larger development, project financing, capital structuring, and strategic opportunity review.
The goal is not to make every opportunity sound easy. The goal is to review serious opportunities clearly, route them correctly, and help move practical, well-structured conversations forward.
Leadership Team
The leadership team is responsible for the direction, execution, communication, and operational structure of Grupo GAP and its related financing ecosystem.
Glenn Tellier
Glenn Tellier is the Founder and Managing Director of Grupo GAP and has spent decades working in financing, real estate, capital structuring, and transaction coordination. Before relocating to Costa Rica, Glenn helped arrange and secure hundreds of millions of dollars in financing in Canada across a wide range of lending and investment transactions.
After moving to Costa Rica, Glenn recognized a major gap in the local market. Foreigners, non-residents, property owners, private lenders, and project sponsors often needed a clearer way to approach financing, lending, and real estate-backed capital opportunities.
That experience helped shape the Grupo GAP ecosystem, including GAP Equity Loans, GAP Investments, and related Costa Rica opportunity platforms. Glenn’s approach is practical and direct: understand the goal, review the structure, evaluate the property or opportunity, and route the conversation into the right process.
Today, Glenn provides strategic direction across Grupo GAP, with a focus on private lending, structured capital, project financing, real estate-backed opportunities, and long-term business relationships in Costa Rica.
Lawsen Tellier
Lawsen Tellier serves as Director of Operations for Grupo GAP and plays a central role in the day-to-day execution of the company’s financing and lending ecosystem. His responsibilities include borrower communication, lender coordination, property review, documentation follow-up, transaction organization, and operational oversight.
Originally from Canada, Lawsen began his professional career in construction, where he gained practical experience with building practices, site conditions, property development, and real estate evaluation. That background gives him a strong practical perspective when reviewing collateral, property situations, and project readiness.
Within Grupo GAP, Lawsen helps connect the operational side of the business with the client, lender, and project side of the process. His role is not simply administrative. He is one of the primary leaders responsible for keeping communication clear, files organized, and serious opportunities moving in a structured way.
Lawsen’s strength is his ability to bridge real estate, construction, operations, and financing coordination in a practical Costa Rica environment.
Strategic Advisors & Associates
Senior advisors and associates support larger development opportunities, project financing, strategic capital relationships, and complex real estate-backed transactions inside the broader Grupo GAP ecosystem.
Steven Stewart
Steven Stewart supports Grupo GAP as a Senior Development Finance Advisor, with a focus on larger development opportunities, institutional capital positioning, project finance strategy, and structured real estate transactions.
Steven brings more than twenty years of experience in real estate development and capital strategy, including hospitality, residential, mixed-use, and larger-scale development opportunities in Costa Rica and international markets. His background includes positioning projects for institutional capital, private credit, pension fund interest, and cross-border funding groups.
His experience is especially relevant when an opportunity involves a larger development, staged construction, hospitality project, feasibility review, lender-ready presentation materials, or a more complex capital structure.
Within Grupo GAP, Steven’s role is focused on helping larger opportunities become clearer, better structured, and more suitable for serious capital review.
Robert N. J. Stewart
Robert N. J. Stewart is a Senior Financial Advisor associated with Grupo GAP’s larger project, investment, and strategic capital initiatives. His work is primarily connected to larger development opportunities, complex financing situations, and project-level advisory support.
Robert is a Chartered Financial Planner with nearly sixty years of experience and more than one hundred industry awards. Beginning his career in nineteen sixty-five, he became one of Kitchener-Waterloo’s recognized financial planners, earning multiple honors as a top financial planner and speaking at major international financial conventions in Brazil, Hong Kong, and England.
After relocating to Costa Rica in two thousand four, Robert expanded his investment and advisory experience across Costa Rica, Spain, and Nicaragua. He later served as Chairman of the Board for a major development initiative, providing strategic oversight and high-level planning guidance.
Within the Grupo GAP ecosystem, Robert brings senior financial perspective to larger opportunities, capital relationships, tax-efficient project thinking, and disciplined strategic review.
Different opportunities require different expertise.
Grupo GAP is not a one-size-fits-all business. A borrower looking for a property-backed loan, a private lender reviewing secured opportunities, and a developer seeking project financing all need different conversations.
